I would first like to thank all of those who have served our Country and then second let those who have lost someone in the line of Duty know that our prayers and thanks are with you.
As we close the year at the end of June, thanks are in order for, all those councils that participated in a Fraternal Benefits Night. We have had a great response within the State working toward the goal of Star Council and getting and keeping the awareness of the Benefits of the Knights of Columbus in front of our new and existing Members. From Bailey’s Harbor to Fitchburg to Hudson and beyond over the last month we have had successful events around the State. We are still not done, on June 3rd at 7:00 pm we will have our last statewide event for the Fraternal Benefits Night for the year. You can sign up at www.kofcwi.org live events to get one more group together for this Estate Planning and Benefits seminar. It is good to have as many as possible join us for these events.
Paul reminds us in Romans 12:9-16, Brothers and Sisters: Let love be sincere; hate what is evil, hold on to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; anticipate one another in showing honor. Do not grow slack in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the holy ones, exercise hospitality. Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Have the same regard for one another; do no be haughty but associate with the lowly; do not be wise in your own estimation.
These are great goals and I would say the Knights and our families working toward this as our mission have continued to work for justice and peace. I added the boat above today asking one quick question, we should ask all those we meet to join us in this mission of Charity, Unity, Fraternity and Patriotism they are not only lessons but a way of life. If not with the Knights, then with who?
